Sonoma County

Farmland, River, and Bridge

Join us in our return to the land.

THE LOCATION:

  • One of the most beautiful places to live and work in California!
  • 5 Riverfront Acres overlooking where the Russian River opens into the Pacific – just a 20-minute kayak ride to the ocean!
  • ½ mile from Sonoma State Park, 1 mile from Jenner, 40 minutes from Santa Rosa, 60 minutes from San Rafael, and 90 minutes from San Francisco

THE HOUSE:

  • We’re renting a private 2 bedroom addition to the main house from the owner that has it’s own front and rear entry.
  • Large living room/kitchen combo, with plans to host our family dinners, meetings, workshops, etc
  • Exquisite bathroom with frameless shower, jacuzzi tub, fireplace and beautiful floors and views.
  • Fantastic backyard garden that is being planned for our herb garden, hot tub, and yoga center.
  • Large back deck with amazing views of the farm, Russian River, forest, and mountains

THE ROOMS:

  • We’re offering 1 private room (perfect for a couple) and 1 shared room that are each available for short-term use
  • The long-term plan is to convert the 2-bedroom space into our community center, since that’s where the kitchen, living room, and fancy bathroom are all located
  • We won’t be building yurts, tiny-homes, teepees or cob-houses until March thru June 2015, but if you can do-it-yourself while we work on preparing the land, let us know your hopes (we are looking for a foundations expert in addition to a goat-herder)

US:

We’re an award-winning cast and crew of musical, culinary, word, and movement artists; technologists, engineers, and entrepreneurs; travelers and adventurers alike that we consider family.  We’re adding bees to the family this time around, so I hope you’re excited about the prospect of making mead with us too ;)

YOU:

We’re looking for dynamic, forward-thinking individuals who exude positive energy and are doing things they’re passionate about.  If you adopt a “pay it forward” approach to keeping your community clean, like building things, sharing things, personal growth, and/or have lived in a community in the past, then you’re probably a good fit for Le Chateau McEden.  We work hard to make the community as awesome as it can be, and we are always looking for people who are eager to contribute.

We’re looking for farmers, builders, permaculture enthusiasts, goat-herders, and others willing to help build, learn, and grow with us.

We haven’t yet worked out the economic model for how to share expenses, so that is coming soon, but if this sounds like a great opportunity for you and you’d like to connect with us in this endeavor, please apply below.
